Summer Cleanse!
28 Sept 2015
Here is a fun layout of my summer skincare products that I genuinely swear by during the warmer months, some of these products even take me through to winter. I tend towards an oily t-zone all year round, so my plan of attack is to find the best products that will rehydrate, regenerate and refresh but most importantly keep that troublesome t-zone under control.
I like to stick with a couple of favourite foundation i.e. staple brands, swapping products when I run out of a particular item or wish to try something new to the market.
Ive always been a fan of changing products, whether that be an eye cream or serum, after using them for an extended period of time as your skin can become used to the active ingredients therefore preventing any real benefits.
My top skincare tip?
All year round incorporate a treatment product that has a mix of Glycolic Acids and Hyaluronic Acids... The beauty of these incredibly effective acids is that they rehydrate whilst creating an infinitesimal and gentle ‘trauma’ to the skin that encourages repair and rejuvenation. I use this little wonder combination both day and night after cleansing and before serums / creams as its a kind way to continually exfoliate your skin creating a a fresh glow.
Summer Cleanse Flat Lay:
* Farmaesthetics: Portsmouth, Rhode Island
Rosewater and Glycerin Spray – The perfect summer refresher and rehydrator when travelling or on the go. A great product to set makeup too… A couple of spritzes before you walk out the door will ensure makeup stays put, stops caking and you smell delicious too.
* Cetaphil:
This trustworthy soldier is a fabulous cleanser that is gentle enough to use around the eyes, non comedogenic and so affordable that if I am travelling I have no hesitations leaving it behind if it means I can squeeze one more holiday purchase in the suitcase!
*Papulex Moussant and Isocorrexion
I can’t tell you where I would be without these two products. Happening about this great range in my local pharmacy some years ago has solved the stubborn outbreaks I was having on my chin area. This lightweight non photosensitising cream has bacteria preventing properties in its formula that literally halts the acne cycle. Love!!!
*Ego Sunsense Daily Face 50+ Sunscreen
I love this sunscreen its oil free formula creates a matt finish when applied. Very similar to what a makeup primer might achieve but with the added brilliance and protection of a 50+ sunscreen. Affordable, Australian made and one of the highest sun protections for the face on the market these days.
*SkinMedica Hydrating Complex and Anti – Ageing Eye Cream
I am a complete sucker for a good eye cream as it's one of the first areas on my face that I have noticed the signs of ageing in recent years. Lightweight yet deliciously luxurious this SkinMedica eye cream has been one of the best formulas I have used to date. I am also loving the SkinMedica Hydrating Complex that I use at night when I feel particularly dehydrated or I have had to wear heavy makeup for work. A light gel like consistency its hard to believe how such a subtle formula can give you such a moisture boost.
* True Essentials Eye Makeup Remover
Loving this Supermarket wonder baby that cost under a tenner and is proving to be one of the quickest eye makeup removers I have used yet. I am always driven by price and promise when selecting beauty products but I will say that I have a couple of deal breakers that must always be met before I start a relationship with a particular product. They are: Paraben Free / SLS, ALS, ALES and SLES Free (Google these nasties and you’ll be sure to follow suit!), Fragrance / Alcohol Free and Not Tested on Animals. Tick, tick and tick!
* Skin Clinic Rescue Balm
Just like its expensive cousin, Elizabeth Ardens’ Eight Hour Rescue Cream except its all natural and organically sourced. Need I say more?!
So there you have it one clean swipe of the face washer, my summer cleansing secrets and products to keep you glowing inside an out during the warmer months. Stay pretty!
